Art Lesson Homework

Here it is…homework.

Draw a hot drink once a day for five days straight.

The reasons for doing this

1. Cups are easy to come by, come in a range of different sizes and shapes.
2. Drawing the shape of a cup can be very challenging indeed. They have all sorts of interesting angles, waists and lips (not to mention difficult to capture rims and handles).
3. It is a task that, if you are pushed for time, can be accomplished in a very short while. If, on the other hand, you have many hours to devote to the task then you can really go to town rendering the cups with beautiful shading and tone.

I would do the homework in pencil but you could do this sort of activity in any sort of medium at all.
