Long ago and far away a boy met a dog.
That dog smelled of the beach, fresh air and dog food.
The boy drew the dog.

The boy wrote down what he thought the dog was thinking.
Then he drew the dog again. And again.
Then he met more dogs.
He drew more dogs.

A few thousand dog drawings later he got an email from a person called Dani.
Dani, and their dog Dottie, wondered if there could be a book of those drawings.
Dani suggested talking to someone called Tom.
Tom, and their dog Murphy, said that there should be a book of those drawings.

And so, a few months later, there was a book.

Then the book was sent out to lovely bookshops and lovely people.
The book is now on its way to lots of other lovely people and lovely dogs in places far, far away.
It is all very exciting.
Though…
It all started with a dog, who smelled of the beach, fresh air and dog food.
His name was Ben.
I miss him, ever so very much.
